Shiseido Gallery: A Hub for Contemporary Art in Ginza

Shiseido Gallery: A Legacy of Art

Established in 1919, the Shiseido Gallery is Japan’s oldest art gallery still in operation. Over its history, it has hosted more than 3,100 exhibitions, many of which introduced influential artists to the Japanese art scene. The gallery focuses on contemporary art through rotating solo and group exhibits, all of which are free to enter.

Architectural Distinction

Run by the renowned Shiseido cosmetic company, the gallery features a striking building designed by Spanish architect Ricardo Bofill. With its tall, bright red facade and five-meter ceilings, the gallery provides an ideal setting for immersive exhibits. Its location in Ginza makes it a perfect destination for combining shopping and cultural exploration.
