Advertising Giant

In the Shiodome district, the Dentsu Building stands out as the headquarters of Dentsu, the world’s largest advertising agency, and an architectural masterpiece by French architect Jean Nouvel. This 48-story skyscraper also incorporates a shopping complex.

Historic Site Reimagined

In 1997, Dentsu secured a site in Shiodome near Hama-rikyu garden. Historically, this site hosted Japan’s first railway terminus from 1872 to 1909. Jean Nouvel’s design was selected for the project, launched in December 2002.

Architectural Wonder

Standing at 213 meters, the building houses 6,000 employees. Its boomerang-like shape and curved southern facade offer views of the Hama-rikyu garden. Nouvel’s focus on comfort earned it the Good Design Gold Prize in 2003.

Community and Commerce

Dentsu integrated a shopping and entertainment hub, Caretta Shiodome, designed by John Jerde. It features restaurants, cafes, a bookstore, a museum, and the Ad Museum, as well as the Dentsu Shiki Theater.

A View to Remember

The express elevator leads to panoramic restaurants on the 46th and 47th floors. The 46th floor offers free access to stunning city views from 10 am to 11 pm. During Christmas, the exterior is illuminated with festive lights.
